GreenYellow signs its first major solar PPA with 2W Energia in Brazil for a total power capacity of c. 50 MWp

GreenYellow, one of the world leaders in decentralized solar power generation and energy efficiency, announces the signing of a tailor-made agreement for the design, development, and operation of 7 photovoltaic power plants for 2W Energia, one of the main renewable energy companies in Brazil.

This partnership with GreenYellow also as investor, comprises to the rental of 7 solar power plants of 5 MWac, totaling 35 MWac or 48.6 MWp, for a period of 15 years from their commercial operation, scheduled from 2023.

Under the Brazilian Distributed Generation model, 2W Energia will use these photovoltaic power plants to supply c. 102 GWh per year of green electricity to its commercial and residential consumption points in seven states in Brazil (Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Bahia, Ceará, Piauí and São Paulo).

This is equivalent to the energy consumption of around 52,000 Brazilian homes, and avoids the release of more than c. 10,000 tonnes of CO2.

Solar energy, which is now the third source of energy in Brazil behind hydropower and wind power, is a viable alternative for reducing the energy bill while contributing to the ecological transition. GreenYellow is part of this transition, now counting 60 photovoltaic power plants in Brazil, representing a total power of 150 MWp.
