Inauguration of the new self-consumption solar plant of GreenYellow Colombia
GreenYellow Colombia has just inaugurated its latest solar power plant on the rooftop of the Unicentro Villavicencio shopping center, during a dematerialized event.
The launch of this solar plant was attended by Camilo Gutierrez, secretary of competitiveness and development of the mayor's office of Villavicencio, Diana Rubio, manager of the mall, Jorge Arango executive director of Fenalco Meta and by GreenYellow was present our CEO Rodolphe Demaine and Oscar Gomez in charge of implementing the project and a member of our photovoltaic team.
They spoke about the importance of the project for the mall in the region as well as some technical details.
The 250 kWp rooftop solar plant of the Unicentro Villavicencio shopping center covers an area of 1,272 sq.m.
The 897 solar panels will provide green electricity that will be directly consumed by the shopping center. This self-consumption solar plant will cover 24% of the shopping center's energy needs.
The solar plant will produce around 291,000 kWh/year of non-polluting energy, which is equivalent to the consumption of 160 Colombian homes and will prevent the emission of 111 tons of CO2 per year.
Unicentro Villavicencio will be the first shopping center in the city to inject solar energy into its facilities.
The Colombian shopping center wants to develop its actions to support the energy transition.

With this solar power plant developed, built and installed by GreenYellow, the shopping center goes even further. Indeed, the self-consumption installation will produce green and local electricity that will cover 24% of the needs of the establishment, which will result in concrete savings of 111 tons of CO2 per year, making Unicentro Villavicencio the first shopping center in Villacicencio to use solar energy!
